Another case of Monkeypox was detected in Nigeria - This was confirmed by the Aka Ibom state government - Two other persons are under investigation The Monkeypox viral disease has spread to Akwa Ibom state and has been confirmed by the state government. The Punch reports that Mr Charles Udoh who is the commissioner for information and strategy on Sunday, October 8. He said that one case of the disease has been discovered while two other suspects are under investigation. Meanwhile, the government of Rivers confirmed that the state recorded three cases of the monkey pox disease, an outbreak that began in Bayelsa recently. The cases were reportedly recorded in Port Harcourt, the capital of the state. Leadership reports that the state’s health commissioner, Professor Princewill Chike, announced the incidents as he spoke with journalists on Friday, October 6.
